PHAMILY RECORDINGS
ABOUT PHR
Phamily Recordings (PhR) is a nonprofit corporation that exists to preserve the music of Philmont Scout Ranch and bring the Philmont family together through audio recordings. Although recordings can never fully replicate a Philmont musical experience, they do trigger memories and help listeners feel connected to Philmont’s people and places. Phamily Recordings’ purpose is to facilitate these connections through music recording projects and the general promotion of Philmusic, making audio snapshots of Philmont available to a broader audience.
MAXWELL'S HOUSE
2021-2022
In the summer of 2021, we recorded our second project, this time in the Maxwell House at Kit Carson Museum/Rayado. Philsongs IV: Maxwell's House features songwriters and musicians from all over the Ranch, highlighting original compositions and songs in the public domain. The album was released on May 27, 2022 as a digital album online. Bonus tracks will be posted on the Philmont Field Recordings Bandcamp page. All proceeds from the main album go toward the support of Philmont.

THE SALA PROJECT
2017-2019
PhR's first project, the Sala Project took place in 2017 when various groups of Philmont staff voluntarily contributed their musical talent to make an album. Forty staff members from ten departments participated in recording sessions on four different days, recording a total of thirty-six songs in the historic bedroom and La Sala at Kit Carson Museum/Rayado.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Philmont Staff Association, the album was released in spring 2019 as a CD in the Tooth of Time Traders, an extended digital album online, and bonus tracks on the Philmont Field Recordings Bandcamp page. All proceeds go toward the support of Philmont.
